A new barcode scanning app is helping college students save on books. iBookstore 2.0 is a collaboration of Campusbook.com and Vision Smarts.
Campusbook.com is an online retail spot for buying and selling books, and Vision Smarts is a mobile barcode scanning technology developer based in Belgium. The application is available for iPhone and allows students to scan a textbook barcode and searching immediately for a cheaper alternative on campusbook.com, if one is available. Vision Smarts’ pic2shop is the mobile barcode scanning software making the service possible for iPhone users and was actually the first barcode scanner on the scene for iPhone’s built-in camera back in April 2009.
