Mobile Data Systems, a leading provider of mobile barcode technology, recently announced “the availability of its free CLIC2C universal visual search application for the tremendously popular Apple iPhone.” The CLIC2C application is the first to decode both 2D barcode symbologies as well as digital waterworks. This application is downloadable from the iPhone App Store and is the first barcode scanning application of its kind to stream video capture on the iPhone.
Companies are looking for better ways to enhance the consumer experience by making their products as interactive as possible. By using 2D Barcode industry standards, including the QR codes, brands allow consumers to become more interactive with their product. (Snapping pictures with their camera on their iPhone, for example is one way to become more interactive and allows the camera to act as a barcode decoder.)
