Mobile Bar Code Company is Motorola’s Newest Investment

Bar code mobile applications are on the rise and putting the power in the consumer’s hand quite literally. It only figures that the Ventures branch of Motorola, a leader in the mobile industry, has chosen to invest in the bar code company Scanbuy. More specifically, the investors are interested in the benefits of ScanLife, the mobile application that allows advertisers to reach consumers and consumers to research a product by scanning the bar code. The application is currently available on Motorola smartphones and camera phones as well as any phone that has a camera component or smart phone capabilties. While some bar code apps cost you a small fee, ScanLife is one of the free apps for 1D and 2D bar code scanning. Investing in this developing form of instant information retrieval holds promise for a mobile mogul like Motorola and the integration of their services in the mobile bar code world.
