Bar Codes and RFID for 3M Track and Trace Solution

3M Track and Trace Solutions recently announced their newest asset management and inventory tracking bundle with both bar code and RFID scanning capabilities.

The software allows users to enter a tag or code into the system and the wireless handheld scanning device allows for tracking the tag or code once it’s been associated with a product or item. The flexibility of the scanner device to read both RFID and bar code tags complements the software’s ability to track the two types of data coding. However, users can bring in third party hardware as well. An advantageous feature of the software is that it allows users to print bar codes as well, which can help reduces costs. Another convenient component of the solution is that there is no server installation and configuration involved in setup. All data entered into the system is automatically sent to and backed up in a Tier III data center to ensure that information will not be lost and the user’s system is secure.
