RFID Journal LIVE! 2012 Spotlights Mass Market Applications to Improve ROI

RFID_Journal_LIVE_2012After a full day of pre-conference training sessions on Tuesday, the RFID Journal LIVE! 2012 conference in Orlando kicked off with a welcome by Mark Roberti, Founder and Editor of RFID Journal, and in-depth interview with a panel of experienced RFID end-users, and a Keynote speech by Shahrokh Shahidzadeh, the Senior Principal Technologist at Intel. The opening reception in the exhibit hall revealed a broad focus toward new efficiencies in mass-market applications of RFID for improved ROI.

Here are a few more things you don't want to miss while you're at RFID Journal LIVE!:

Alien Technology announced the mass-market adoption of the Higgs™ 4 UHF RFID transponder IC and the Higgs-4 IC, with features that are designed increase efficiencies of RFID solutions for mass-market application of RFID by increasing the rate of tag reads, the distances tags can be read and the quality of reads in adverse conditions. The end result is lower costs and higher efficiencies.

Attendees visiting Alien’s Booth #614 will also see how the Higgs-4 IC addresses the increasing need for more rapid tag encoding for enterprise and retail customers while providing new solutions for customers needing enhanced security. This includes new commands to return the status of locked memory, and Dynamic Authentication™, a non-copyable, anti-cloning/anti-counterfeit technology.

Walki Group produces technical laminates and protective packaging materials, specializing in the production of fiber-based, intelligent, multi-laminate products for such markets as energy-saving construction facings, construction membranes and barrier-packaging solutions. The company will demo their patented technology, Walki-4E, a new more sustainable way of producing flexible circuit boards, through a dry production process, involving no liquid chemicals and using paper as the substrate. It also allows for computer-to-antenna production and extremely accurate laser cutting of circuit board patterns. Visit them in Booth # 1617.

RFID Global Solution, Booth #904, is a provider of software and solutions for real-time data-center asset management. The company is promoting its Visi-Trac application, which tracks mobile and high-value assets, from servers to laptops, as well as work-in-process, at RFID Journal LIVE! 2012. Global Solution serves clients in the aerospace, communications and financial-services markets.

Checkpoint Systems, Booth # 1008, provides shrink-management, merchandise-visibility and apparel-labeling solutions. Checkpoint’s growing RFID portfolio of hardware, software, tags, and service and support offerings is showcased at the RFID Journal LIVE! 2012 conference, illustrating the value for the increasing number of apparel retailers seeking to deploy RFID broadly throughout their operations to increase sales, control inventory, reduce working capital, and enhance loss prevention efforts and consumer experience.

Impinj is showcasing new products in Booth # 704, focused on enabling customers to easily deploy and reap the benefits of RFID technology. Among them are the Monza® X-2K Dura Chip - a ground-breaking UHF Gen 2 RFID tag chip for consumer electronics manufacturers, their network of retailers, and end users; the Monza® Self-Serialization - an easy-to-deploy, reliable and scalable chip-based EPC that gives brand owners the flexibility to decide when, where and how they manage the item-level tagging processes across their global supply chain; and the Speedway® Antenna Hub, which supports up to 32 RFID antennas connected to a single reader for a robust solution to today’s popular item monitoring and other antenna-intensive RFID applications.

The RFID Journal LIVE! 2012 Conference continues through tomorrow, April 5. Visit us in Booth # 1414D.
