The Bitcoin ATM is the first of a projected 20 to be installed under the Instacoin banner this summer in the Greater Montreal Area and Quebec City. With its intuitive and simple user interface, 15-second CAD$ to Bitcoin conversion, quick sign-up and accessibility in major urban areas, Instacoin Bitcoin ATMs will simplify the Bitcoin buying process for the people of Quebec. Patisserie Lachenaie will also be accepting Bitcoin for goods and services via Coinkite Payment Terminals at the point of sale.
"Since I first read about Bitcoin, with its open nature and quick worldwide transactions, I thought it was revolutionary. But buying them wasn't so easy for me," said Joe Di Sano, proprietor of Patisserie Lachenaie. "It took me several weeks just to be able to start buying Bitcoin online. That's why I'm so excited to setup my first Instacoin Bitcoin ATM. All the client needs to do is scan their mobile phone [displaying a wallet QR code], insert cash into the machine and within seconds Bitcoins are transferred to them."
The inaugural Instacoin Bitcoin ATM will start selling to the public on Wednesday, June 25th, 2014 from 9:00AM-7:00PM (EST) at Patisserie Lachenaie, located at 655 Mtee des Pionniers, Terrebonne, QC J6V 1S2.
