AIT Alliance to Host AIT in DoD Symposium 2015

Cranberry Township, PA |June 25, 2015 -- AIM North America (AIM NA), the Association for Automatic Identification and Mobility in North America, along with its AIT Alliance, announced today details for AIT in DoD Symposium 2015. The event, scheduled for September 15thin the metro Washington, D. C. area, marks the second annual gathering of government leaders, business executives and academics within the automatic identification technology (AIT) industry.

This year’s event, Integrating Practice, Technology & Innovation, will be held at the Hilton Arlington (Ballston) in Arlington, Virginia, and features a variety of educational sessions, technology demonstrations and executive roundtable discussions with corporate and nonprofit organizations.

Speakers will include executives from Zebra Technologies, Delta Airlines, Honeywell, Motorola and Datalogic, along with educators from Southern Methodist University (SMU), George Mason University and the University of North Carolina. Additionally, senior representatives from the Department of Defense (DoD) Logistics & Material Readiness and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) will present.

The Symposium will conclude with the presentation of the 2015 AIM NA Automatic Identification Technology (AIT) Award. Established in 2013, this award honors a recipient from the government sector that has championed the successful use of AIT within the local, state or national government. Previous recipients include U.S. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse of Rhode Island and Paul Peters of the Department of Defense. A networking reception will follow for all Symposium attendees.

AIM NA and the AIT Alliance also plan to offer special registration pricing for the 2015 Symposium. Active government employees will receive complimentary registration, while AIM and AIT Alliance members can take advantage of discounts.
