Dynamic Systems, Inc., a Redmond, Washington software developer specializing in barcode data collection, has recently released a low cost software suite, CheckMate, aimed at small to mid-sized Fabricators. Dynamic Systems has added modules to their manufacturing suite that meet the field demands of Fabricators. CheckMate claims to deliver the same power as more expensive ERP systems. The CheckMate Suite includes Job Costing, Inventory and Tool tracking, making it uniquely capable of providing the fabrication company with up to the minute information and, hopefully, maximize profits.

Complete Inventory System CheckMate Stockroom is a complete inventory system. It tracks raw materials and finished goods using fast and accurate barcode technology. Receive inventory items by the “case” but issue by the “each”. Use multiple units of measure for liquids (quart/ounce), sheets of materials (sq. inches/sq. yards), or track each item individually.

Create, Track and Cost Manufacturing Orders CheckMate allows the user to create Sales Orders and automatically convert them to Manufacturing Orders. The Manufacturing Order includes a full Build of Materials – inventory items, tasks, and any special tools, dies or molds required to complete the job, as well as an estimated time to complete. This Manufacturing Order is then tracked through the production process using barcode technology. Upon completion of each task, labor hours and raw materials are recorded to the order. At the final completion of the build, the raw materials inventory is back-flushed out of Stockroom, and the cost of the job is completed.

Track Tools, Dies & Molds With the integration of Toolroom-Tool Tracking, CheckMate is able to not only provide a list of tools/molds/dies required for a job, but to track the history and condition of these unique items. In the Toolroom Maintenance Module, any required calibration dates, die sharpening or other maintenance requirements can be recorded and scheduled, thus eliminating lost time in manufacturing due to poor maintenance of the tool.
