Big In Japan, the developers of the ShopSavvy iPhone app, recently acquired Snappr, one of the first iPhone bar code scanning apps.
Snappr uses QR codes to store mobile information that is both beneficial to the content owner and the end user. Phillip Stehlik, the founder and CEO of Snappr, has joined the ShoppSavvy board of advisors as a condition of this acquisition. The program will be made available to nearly all brands for free for use in advertising efforts.
