Sweden, September 26, 2017 - Zaplox, a market innovator of advanced mobile key services for the global hospitality industry, has recently signed an expanded agreement with SkiStar, a leading operator of Alpine ski resorts throughout Sweden, Norway and Austria. Under the newly expanded agreement which was signed in August, SkiStar properties that are equipped with digital key room access technology, will now be able to further enhance the guest experience by implementing the new Zaplox SDK solution and further customizing their proprietary mobile apps.
With a 42 percent market share, SkiStar is recognized as one of the largest operators of Alpine ski resorts in the Scandinavian region, with more than 6,500 cabins and apartments under its management. The group has been a Zaplox customer since 2011, the same year that Zaplox began making its solutions commercially available. Offering its innovative mobile key services primarily to the hospitality industry, Zaplox ensures that hotels and resorts have the ability to implement digital key convenience to meet evolving guest needs and expectations, while enhancing the property's reputation and providing the ability to increase revenue. The new SDK solution, which was released in 2016, will give SkiStar the added ability to integrate their own resort mobile apps with Zaplox digital key technology. This innovative feature ensures that guests experience a simple and seamless mobile check-in, digital room key assignment and checkout process with the use of a single, comprehensive mobile app.
Magnus Friberg, CEO at Zaplox stated, "We are very happy that one of our first customers, SkiStar, has chosen to expand the cooperation between our two organizations and that they appreciate the many possibilities that our new solutions have to offer. Their confidence in Zaplox is proof of a thriving business cooperation that has developed over time, and it also shows that we are providing solutions that create value for both SkiStar and their guests."
In addition to providing enhanced guest and staff convenience, the SDK solution also allows properties to enhance their own mobile apps to make them more enticing and robust, and to serve as a means of direct communication with guests. Digital key functionality allows guests to skip front desk lines and instead go directly to their assigned guestrooms, providing an immediate and practical value that greatly increases the chances of the app being downloaded onto guests' personal smart devices. This in turn increases the possibility that guests will be exposed to and interact with other services or promotions included on a property's app, ultimately enhancing the ability to grow additional revenue.
SkiStar AB (publ): SkiStar is listed on the Nasdaq Stockholm stock exchange, Mid Cap segment. The group owns and operates ski resorts in Sälen, Åre, Vemdalen, and Hammarbybacken (Stockholm) in Sweden, Hemsedal and Trysil in Norway, and St Johann in Tirol in Austria. Market share is 50% in Sweden, 31% in Norway and a total of 42% in Scandinavia. The core business is alpine skiing, and the main focus is the overall ski experience of the guests.
